UFC 99 From the main fight, we have Rich Franklin which was a math teacher at Oak Hills High School at Cincinnati. His professional background in teaching includes a master's degree in education and a bachelor's degree in mathematics from the university at the same city.

According to Franklin, he first learned submission fighting from instructional video tapes. He has been associated with and trained with Meat Truck Inc., and currently trains at the facilities by Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt Jorge Gurgel,(New Generation Martial Arts); Neal Rowe, a Muay Thai instructor (Sacan Martial Arts); and Rob Radford, a boxing instructor (Boxing 4 Fitness).

Franklin is currently ranked as a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Jorge Gurgel. Since losing his title to Anderson Silva, Franklin has started training under Matt "The Wizard" Hume.

On the other hand Wanderlei Cesar da Silva from Curitiba, Brazil, is a Brazilian MMA fighter, who has competed in Japan's Pride Fighting Championships and also the American Based Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

He trained under Rudimar Fedrigo at the Chute Boxe Academy in Curitiba, Brazil. He specializes in Muay Thai and has received a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu by Carlos Gracie, Jr.. He is the former IVC light heavyweight champion, former Pride middleweight (205 lb) champion, and the Pride 2003 Middleweight Grand Prix champion.

Silva earned the nickname "The Axe Murderer" for his extremely aggressive fighting style; the majority of his fights have either ended in a knockout or referee stoppage due to his strikes. In the ring, he is known for engaging opponents with punches and utilizing knees in the Muay Thai clinch. Silva was given the nickname "Cachorro Louco" ("Mad Dog") in Brazil, which refers to his aggressive fighting style and of the way he stares down opponents before his fights.

No doubt this event is a complete success not only because is the first time an event like this is being held in Germany, but, also because there is a few fighters that are really going to put some action on the fight.
