The UFC 105 is just around the corner. Couture vs. Vera is an upcoming fight that might attract lots of people for the nature of the two fighters. Couture is a well experience fighter and in my opinion he is going to win the fight at least by decision.

This time it will be taking place in Manchester, England at the Manchester Evening News Arena and this event has been confirmed to be on air on Spike at November 14, 2009.

As one of the main changes on the scheduled of the fights we can see that a previously rumored Lightweight Championship bout between BJ Penn and Diego Sanchez will not take place at this event according to Dana White. At the UFC 102 press conference White said it is likely that the fight will be moved to a third event in November which is at this time unannounced. It was later announced that the bout will take place at UFC 107. Another of the big changes states that a bout between Antonio Rogério Nogueira and Luiz Arthur Cane has been moved to UFC 106. Dong Hyun Kim was forced to pull out of his bout with Dan Hardy due to an injury. He will be replaced by Mike Swick.

We can see that the most important fight is the one between Couture and Vera for which Couture is ranked as the favorite.

Results

The UFC105 took place this last Saturday 14th and Couture is now the new Light Heavyweight Champion. Couture defeated Brandon Vera via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28). Now, the UFC106 is around the corner and soon we will have more information.
