UFC108 is just around the corner. This time, Evans vs. Silva is the main fight that is going to be the center of attention of the night. The venue off all this action will be the the MGM Grand Garden Arena, located at Las Vegas, Nevada. This event is scheduled to be taking place at the night of the January 2nd.
About the main fight we can see that the level of the fighters is quite good. Rashad Anton Evans (born September 25, 1979) is an American mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter from Lansing, MI currently signed to the Ultimate Fighting Championship where he is a former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion. Evans won the heavyweight division of The Ultimate Fighter 2. He holds notable victories over Stephan Bonnar, Jason Lambert, Brad Imes, Sam Hoger, Michael Bisping, Chuck Liddell, Forrest Griffin and fought Tito Ortiz to a Draw. Evans trains out of Albuquerque, New Mexico with Jackson's Submission Fighting. Evans lost the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship by way of knockout to undefeated Lyoto Machida at UFC 98.
On the other hand, we can see that Silva is not away from this level. Thiago Anderson Ramos da Silva (born November 12, 1982) is a professional mixed martial arts fighter and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt who currently competes in the light heavyweight division for the Ultimate Fighting Championships. Once a member of the renowned Chute Boxe Academy, Thiago now trains with established fighting stable American Top Team. Both MMAWeekly and MMANews currently rank Thiago as the #9 light heavyweight fighter in the world. Prior to signing with the Ultimate Fighting Championship, Thiago fought almost solely in his native country of Brazil. During his first 9 professional bouts, Thiago attained a perfect 9-0 record, winning 7 of these bouts by KO or TKO.
As we can see the fight is balanced but I really think that the odds are on Thiago's side.
